Thugs set a car on fire at Ambalathara
Kasargod: An Alto car parked within the compound of a house was set ablaze by some thugs, at Ambalathara. The incident is said to have happened at 3.00 AM on Friday, 24 January. The thugs had managed to drag the car 10 meters away from its original parking space, after which they set it on fire. The car is said to belong to Ashok, who is working abroad. The loud sound of the explosion woke the residents of the house, who came out to see the sight of their car burning. Kasargod: Kallikote (Calicut) Special Court has convicted 12 accused out of 36, and acquitted rest in a brutal murder case of a former CPM leader T. P. Chandrashekharan, popularly known as ‘TP’. He had been murdered on May 4, 2012, at Vallikkad near Vadagere while riding a bike, by assailants who waylaid him in an Innova car. Country-made bombs were hurled at him and when he fell off the motorcycle, he was stabbed on his head 51 times. The court has acquitted P. Mohanan, husband of influential leader of CPM and an MLA, K. K. Lathika. However it has convicted Panur Area Committee member P.K. Kunhinathan and Kunnammakere Area secretary K.C. Ramachandran. Read More....
Kasargod: Two youths who were peddling ganja were trapped by the locals red-handed on January 20, Tuesday at Melparamba town here. The culprits are identified as K.N Rajesh Kumar and Murugan. It is learnt that the residents of the area had a suspicion regarding the ill-legal activities taking place in their area. The locals reported that the accused youth used to sell ganja in the school premises. The locals had complained the school authorities regarding this issue. On Monday, at 8.30 pm the local public trapped the youth and handed them to the police. Packets of ganja were seized from them by the police. Read More...
